Why Greystone House?

Unique
Curriculum

Greystone House Montessori Schools are built on the Montessori philosophy. Montessori can be difficult to grasp at first glance, but the methods and equipment as well as the environment are designed to develop deep academic achievement in the preschool age group. The intellectual stimulation inherent in the Montessori curriculum means that almost without exception graduates of Greystone House exceed TEA guidelines (www.tea.state.tx.us/teks) when they enter public school at first grade. If you are curious about Montessori, check out our lesson descriptions and look at some of the resources we have available from our Amazon links.

Greystone House has developed an extensive curriculum that is superimposed on top of the Montessori method. Our curriculum presents more than 50 topics throughout the year. Each topic focuses on science, culture, work, the arts, practical life skills, or other subjects important to development. We provide weekly enrichment activities focused on creativity, body and motor development, music and cooking. Unstructured and structure play round out our curriculum and help children exercise their developing strength, stamina, flexibility and coordination. We wrap all of this with an emphasis on 13 core values as well as a daily reinforcement of proper manners and appropriate social skills.
