Why Greystone House?

Decades of experience plus a global view of how people eat has taught us that the notion that kids will only eat cereal, hot dogs and sandwiches is pure nonsense. Our meal program provides the foundation for healthy eating as well as providing exposure to a variety of foods. We know it is hard for working parents to provide 3 nutritious meals per day, so we make it a point to support you in ensuring your children get them. We offer nutritious choices and children learn that they can make the right choices when it comes to what they eat.

Our menus provide foods low in salt, fat and sugar while being high in protein and fiber. We do this while also providing a lot of variety in our weekly menu. We present international foods, unique dishes, diverse textures as well as a variety of tastes so that children are exposed to foods they may not normally see. And it works wonders. Many children find the most interesting favorite foods while attending Greystone House including those to which they might never have been exposed.

Of course our values focused curriculum also has something to contribute at mealtime. From our infant environment all the way through graduation at Kindergarten, children eat at community tables. They serve themselves and others with an emphasis on manners including always saying please and thank you. Pleasant conversation is encouraged at breakfast, lunch and snack and when everyone has finished they clean up after themselves and return their plate and silverware to be cleaned. These are family tables and the lessons learned can be carried home as well as taken to heart forever.
