Mosquitos
The mosquitos are back. Research shows that prolonged use of Deet is harmful for our children. So what is a good alternative? Avoid sweets and salty food if mosquitos are attracted to you, and use unscented or fragrance-free shampoo/laundry detergent, etc. Avoid perfumes and cologne. Also, do not wear black or yellow as mosquitos are attracted to those colors. Dress your child in light-colored, long-sleeved shirts and loose pants if mosquito bites are bothersome. If you must use products on your children, please apply them to your child before you come to school; we will reapply after nap before they go outside in the afternoon. We also prefer lotions over sprays. All products must be labeled with first and last name, and you must complete an authorization form.
